Personal Pronouns:
I | Eu
You | Tu (but that's just used in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. we generally use "Você")
He | Ele(m)/Ela (f)
It | (there's no neutral pronoun in portuguese, all things have gender)
We | Nós
You | Vós (but that's not used anymore, we use "Vocês" plural
They | Eles (m.pl)/Elas (f.pl)
Some example sentences:
- Eu sou feliz (I am happy)
- Você é bonito (You are handsome)
*obs: If you are in Santa Catarina or Rio Grande do Sul, you will hear " Tu é bonito" meanin the same thing. That's grammatically wrong. To write it, on a book, or a newspaper, the correct form would be " Tu ÉS bonito" but that sounds too poetic and old. In Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, they conjugate the verb as in the "Você", but instead of sayin "Você", they say "Tu". That's considered an accent.
- Ele é velho. (He's old) / Ela é velha (She's old)
*obs: The verbs are used the same way for HE and SHE
Since we don´t have IT. For instance, a chair. In english, it's IT. In portuguese, it's gender is Feminine! It's A CADEIRA (the chair (f) )
Some piece of advice: if the subtantive ends with an A, great chance it's feminine. If it ends on O, great chance it's masculine.
- Nós andamos juntos. (We walked together)
- Vocês não aprendem. (You don't learn. -pl)
*obs: You could also say, "Vós não aprendes", but that pronoun we just see on The Bible, its reaaaally old, and not used EVER. Don't bother with this form.
- Eles vão ao cinema. (They'll go to the movies. -m.pl)/ Elas vão ao cinema (They'll go to the movies. -f.pl.)
*obs: If you'll refer to a group of people that has boys and girls, you always put the Masculine pronoun. And the verbs combine with the pronouns)
Sorry it's a little long (:

Starting
Ok, I'm gonna assume you're all beginners, and start with the basics.
So, Greetings:
Good Morning = Bom Dia
Good Afternoon = Boa Tarde
Good Evening = Boa Noite (it's also used as "good night" when you're going to bed)
If you wanna ask someone if he's doing fine, you can ask:
Como vai? (literaly means "how are you doing?")
Tudo bem? or Tudo bem com você? ( it would mean "everything ok?" or "everything ok with you?"
To answer this, you may say:
Tudo. E com você? ( "everything (ok). how about you?)
or Tudo bem. E com você? ( "everything ok. how about you?")
Sim (that's "yes")
Não (that's "no", even if its sincere, it may sound rude. be careful)
Bye = Tchau
See you = A gente se vê
See you soon = Até logo
See you later = Até mais or Até mais tarde
Bye, kisses = Tchau, beijos
Brazilian people, men and women, use to greet themselves with a kiss on the cheeck. Actually, you lean your cheek on the other person's cheek, and kiss the air. You can do this even when you meet somebody (not for job or, your boss ok?), you don't need to be friends or have intimicy. Important, guys dont do that on guys. Girls do on guys and girls. Guys just do it on girls. Remembering the age is not a problem here. If you're a man, and you greet other man, you shake his hand, even if you're young.
